James Delivery is a home delivery company, offering fast and efficient deliveries to customers throughout the country. Founded in 2015, owned by GPA, James Delivery has stood out as one of the delivery app options in Brazil. With an easy-to-use platform, customers can shop and schedule deliveries, as well as have access to a 24/7 support team.

My role at James Delivery.

I was responsible for developing, leading, and managing the product design team. This included developing strategies, creating and implementing new designs, and ensuring visual coherence and consistency of the experience across all company products. I also worked closely with other departments in the company, such as marketing and development, ensuring that all design and experience needs were met.

Challenges

Design is essential to ensure a good experience in any application, and in James it wouldn’t be any different. It is responsible for making navigation intuitive and attractive, from choosing products or dishes to completing the purchase.

The ease of finding a specific product or dish is essential to ensure a positive user experience. With a well-thought-out experience, we offer clear and intuitive navigation, making it easy for anyone to find what they are looking for. Our focus has always been to ensure that our users find and make their purchases in the easiest and most intuitive way possible.

Team structuring and management.

Another challenge I faced at James was structuring a design team from scratch. This task is very delicate and important because it involves finding talented and skilled professionals, aligning their skills and profiles with the company’s needs, and ensuring that everyone works in harmony, collaborating and supporting each other. It is also necessary to provide the tools and resources for the team to work efficiently and achieve established goals. This process of building a strong and cohesive team is fundamental to the success of any project and requires a lot of attention and planning.
